Our history

Every little thing has to start with an idea, and no matter how small, it always has potential to bloom bigger.

When a friend came to founder Genevieve Messens if it wouldn't be an idea to bring the camp from the Percy Jackson books by Rick Riordan to live, she didn't hesitate and started right away with the set-up. Despite struggling with her own mental health in the first year of the organising, as a 1 person organisation, she kept persisting and the first camp took place in July 2024. Small, chaotic and messy, but truly with goals for a better next camp. For the organisation of camp 2025, Vex and Sage joined the organisation and some more campers volunteered out (for example to have a camp booth at Facts and Brussels Comic Con). The second edition took place with not less than 13 campers more than the first edition, showing a vast growth and interest, as well as that when organisation improves, so does the interest in the camp.

 

Unfortunately and fortunately, Percy Jackson and thus also the concept of Camp Half-blood both fall under copyright law, we wished to transform our concept and theme for the next editions. For the organisation of the 3rd camp by this organisation, we have reformed. Our name changed, our staff team formed, ideas put together and creativity blooming. Our very own Scribes team made a world from scratch, mixing Percy Jackson and Harry Potter, with a lot of cosplay and DnD; the perfect recipe for a whole LARP world to open up!

For the 3rd edition Blue joined Gen and Sage in the main organisation, Lore joined Vex in the core team, Wout can call himself a guardian of our world and camp, and Raven

Our vision, mission and values

For neurodivergents, by neurodivergents is our motto and for a good reason. To often we notice that people are outcasts, different interests, different abled, different background, ... People get cast out of regular camp organisations, can't truly enjoy being themselves and constantly mask. We want to provide a safe space for people, within a general and broad interest concept (fantasy, cosplay, DnD and roleplay), and make sure people feel welcome and have fun!

Everyone deserves a safe space is our core value and should always be first in our organisation. People feeling safe enough to not mask and pretend, forging friendships and simply being whoever or whatever they are.

Genevieve

Founder, Pioneer and Scribe

I am Genevieve/Gen, I am 20 years old, a mom and spouse, and I am founder of Mythica LARP. I handle mostly the logistics, budgeting and planning; and I am a part of the Scribes team as well.

 

I've always enjoyed fantasy and as an autcast I've always longed for a safe space to be myself. Now I hope to create one for others!

Sage

Hi, I'm Sage! I am a 20 year old goofball, a dad and spouse. I am a general staff member. I don't have any specific tasks, but I help out in branches where needed. I am a support staff member and a first to try out new things we might have.

 

I'm always up for a chat and my DM's are always open, whether it's for a talk or for venting.

Blue

My name is Blue, I am 24 years old and I mostly focus on my work as a scribe and supporting Genevieve and Sage with the camp. As a scribe my goal is to create a larp world that everyone can join on their own level. 

If you ever need a helping hand in the server or at any of our events and camps feel free to come to me. I will always try to help other within my own capabilities. Next to all that I am a writer and a well known gremlin within the community.

Vex

Messenger of the Gods

Hi, I'm Vex and I'm one of 2 longest members to this camp. I joined the organisation after the first edition and I've been a steady presence ever since.

I'm a chaotic creator: I have my own small business making art and fursuits, and you'll probably always find me on any convention you go to. I'm very busy in my day to day life, which is why you might not have seen me active a lot in our discord server.

Wout

Guardian of the Gods, Scribe and Cleric

Hi, I am Wout. I am one of the few EHBO-certified staff members. I was part of the amazing cooking team during the 2025 edition. Despite multiple people telling me to take breaks, I continued working with passion for the camp, both before and during the event, sometimes even putting my physical health aside to bring food to the table.
I am now a Guardian of the Gods, having been promoted due to my overworking tendencies, which my “bosses” hate. They deal with this by spraying me with a water bottle like a cat. I love making memes about the lore, lighting fires, and taking care of my campmates.

Heyhey! My name is Lore, I will be 21 when the camp starts. My main focus will be keeping an eye on making sure everything happens as it should and having a listening ear where needed.

Raven

Student of the God, Artisan and Scribe

Hi, my name is Raven and I'm 22 years old.

I like being creative and as an ex-scoutsleader & speelpleinleader, joining the organisation to give people a chance at a fun time, regardless of ability/disability, gender, sexuality, skin colour, appearance, beliefs, ... I believe in what we stand for and hope to build further on a world where everyone feels included.
